As he heard the girl bring up him and Barbara, his old friend, Drew rolled his eyes. He opened his mouth to say something but he didn’t want to interrupt her, so he closed it again. He honestly couldn’t believe she brought up his friendship with Barbara to this. His mouth dropped when she corrected him about Ian’s last name. The boy let out a nervous and sarcastic laugh. “So now you care about how I say his last name?” He asked, roughly, barely spitting the words. “Oh, I’m sorry to hurt you for calling Ian Amazing Godwood by the wrong last name, I’m so so sorry.” He continued, sarcastic. “And you know what? Barbara’s a friend and I know her way back then. If we’re keeping this ‘say my friend’s name right’ rule, you should learn to call her by her name, not just ‘the model’. I’m sure that wouldn’t bother you, would it?” Drew gestured while talking. “And actually, if you’re having a problem when I hang out with her, you should talk to me. Because I do not want you to take things for me, you shouldn’t, that’s not right. If you don’t like it, say it, so I can know what you feel. I’m sure I’ll do my best to try to help you and dissapear with the problem, after all, what wouldn’t I do for you?!” The boy confessed with a shaky voice, taking a deep breath after it.
Drew let his body fall on the couch, leaning his elbows on his knees and his head on his hands, facing the ground. No, she was crying. He closed his eyes for a second, letting out a sigh. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t act like this. I was pretty mad when you danced with him back then, but I didn’t say it, I didn’t want you to get mad…” He started, not yelling anymore. He just couldn’t, he was done. “I just saw that gifset and the jealousy came all back… And if you reblogged, you should care about it somehow.” The boy continued, looking up to face the fragile brunette in front of him. He could see in her eyes, she was so dissapointed on him. “People say I’m overprotective… Guess they’re talking about this, right?” He joked, smiling weakly. Drew went back to facing the floor, he just couldn’t look at her after everything he’s done. “I’m a fucking jackass..” A tear slipped through his cheeks as he did his best to hide his face.
“No. I don’t care about how you say his last name. I care about you respecting him.” Ariel answered in a rude tone. “Her name is Barbra? Well that’s news to me, because number one, you’ve never talked about her, and number two, you’ve never told me her name. Newsflash babe: There’s a difference between actually not knowing someone’s name and just being a full on asshole about their name. Hang out? You took her out to dinner and to see the Lion King. That’s basically a date. Do you know what else sucks? Your fans shoving pictures in my face on twitter and tumblr about it. You never have that problem and I sometimes envy you for that.”she finished, getting every last angry bit out of her, wiping her face once again.
Ariel stood in front of him as he sat on the couch, sniffling quietly. She listened to the once furious boy as he went on about his feelings of the video from the past with genuine eyes. She bent down and sat next to him, looking up into his eyes. Ariel rested her hand on his leg, “You know I’d never get mad at you for something like that..” she stated. “Yup. A big one, may I add.” she commented with a slight chuckle, trying to lighten the mood slightly. Ariel rubbed his back comfortingly while wiping her face once more. She let silence fill the air for a little while before deciding to say something. “By the way,” she began in a whisper, “I’d rather you be overprotective than not protective at all.” Ariel looked at him with a soft smile.
Drew felt something inside watching her smiling softly. But he widened his eyes in a matter of seconds, surprised to see her change her humor so fast. “Wow wow wow, calm down.” He said, raising his hands in a protective way as if she could jump into him and start beating him up any minute, going one step backwards. “That’s not what I meant at all… See? I always have to be the bad guy. I didn’t even say that, you’re putting words on my mouth!” He talked back, furrowing his eyebrows, he honestly said it in the most innocent way possible, guess she took it the wrong way.
He was not expecting this, definitely. See her act impatient and angry was making him feel slightly sick but it was also making the anger grow inside of him and he instantly remembered Ian and the dance. Drew ignored her question, coming inside anyway and replying the first thing he could think of. “Alright, are we really doing this now? So, okay, fine by me.” The boy replied, shrugging and looking straight into her eyes. “No, I do not like feeling this way, who does?! No one likes fighting with the ones they love, but breaking news: no one loves being fucking jealous too.” He started, raising the tone of his voice. He really didn’t wanted to treat her bad, so he wasn’t exactly screaming. “Yes, I admit it, I am jealous! And there’s no way someone gets jealous without a reason. It was my song and Ian no one-fucking-cares had no right to dance it for you.” Drew spat out, rage taking his body just by saying his name. “And don’t give me this face and pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about because you do. The guy likes you, and he danced it for you.” He continued, “And the fact that you act like I shouldn’t, like I have no right to be jealous drives me fucking crazy. Last time I checked you were mine, and I intend on keeping things as they are.” He said, extremely decided. “How would you feel if you made a routine and taught me just so I can go and dance it with another girl?” Drew asked softly, not being able to hide he was hurt, ready to listen what she would say.
Ariel rolled her eyes at his way of “defense”. She knew what she heard and how she heard it. Ariel never acts like this. She’s the type of person who tries to find the light in everything, but this fight definitely got the better of her and she did not like one bit of how she was acting. It was actually quite sickening. But every time she began to soften up something would piss her off throwing her back into that horrible attitude. Ariel hated it, but she couldn’t control it. It was really an awful sight to see.
Ariel listened to her boyfriend, her anger rising as his did as well. Her patience was wearing thin, her heart beat was racing, and her pulse was off the charts as insults flew through her head. None she would never dare say aloud, but all they did was just make her more angry. Nearing the end of his rant, she began to soften slightly at his gentle words, but, boom, everything he had said before popped in her mind, bringing back her anger. “Great. Now It’s my turn.” she said sternly. “First off, you honestly think you’re the only jealous one in this relationship? Because you aren’t. Every time I see a picture of you with the same fucking model all the time it triggers me. And they’re not even from the same day! But guess what? I keep my mouth shut, because I learned that bitching about it only causes shit like this. Secondly, his name is Eastwood. Ian. Eastwood. Or is that too hard for you to say? You think I wanted to go up and perform? Because if you actually watched the video I was pushed out there. And maybe he did like me. That was one moment in time. Not now. The last time I saw him was at World of Dance: New York, and you were even there. If you had seen us talking we’re strictly friends. I get that it might be triggering jealousy, but you have to understand that he means nothing even remotely close to what you mean to me. I am your and always will be yours. And what pisses me off even more is that you always seem to forget that.” Ariel finally finished her rant with a raspy voice from yelling. She wiped her face from the overwhelming tears that fell down her face during her piece. “How would you feel if you were in my shoes?” she asked in barely an audible whisper.
Drew was starting to realize he took the first chance he got to see her. And he was really mad at himself, more than he was before. Wasn’t he able to be without her for at least, 2 days? The boy internally laughed for asking himself that question. He already knew the answer, and it was of course not. ”Yeah, now that I stopped to think about it, it sounds kind of unreal..” He replied, smiling a little as he saw her chuckle. The boy heard Ariel with attention, looking down at her eyes before watching her face the ground, his eyes going to her thighs once again. Drew covered his eyes with his hands and let out a breath, putting his hands back in his pocket. He couldn’t and he wouldn’t get soft there. He just couldn’t get mad at her either, her lovely, beautiful figure was there, in front of him, but he tried to contain himself of taking her and kissing the crap outta her.
“Oh, I see.. Glad you were doing something you like last night..” He tried, shaking his head side to side after hearing what he just said. He was acting ridiculous, it felt like when they were just kids, all over again. Drew always had a charmous way of talking to ladies, but Ariel was the only one he was never able to show his abilities. Fuck, these legs, Ariel. - He though, biting his lower lip hardly. Hearing her question, Drew felt his heart starting to beat faster. “Ye- no… Yes.” He answered, rubbing his hands together, not knowing what to do. They already weren’t in a cool situation and staring at the brunette’s killing legs wasn’t helping. “I should really get going…” Drew replied, coming in anyway. “I should…” He started, trying to find something that sounded reasonable to get out of there. “I really- I don’t want to bother you.” The boy said stopping and turning around to face the brunette who was standing in front of him.
His smile. That’s really all she needed to see. A smile. Ariel smiled softly in return before looking down. Her head shot up as she heard the attitude in his phrase. “So what? You’re going to get mad at me for dancing by myself too?” she asked, looking him straight in the eyes. How dare he. She kind of expected Drew getting mad at her for dancing with someone to a song he wrote for her. But dancing in general? No. She was not going to tolerate that. “I can’t believe you’re throwing me attitude for dancing. By myself. How dare you.” Ariel scoffed in disbelief, rolling her eyes.
Ariel was so confused as to why he was acting like this. He never acts like this. They usually fight then, boom, it’s over. She had no clue what was going on with him and it truthfully hurt her seeing him treat her this way. “Yes? No? Which is it?” Ariel asked with a bit of attitude and impatience. She watched him walk in as he was saying he should go and the he doesn’t want to “bother” her. “No. We’re going to figure this out, like we always do. Even if it means getting at each other’s throats. I don’t like feeling this way and I’m pretty sure you don’t either. If you really don’t want to solve this then leave. I’m not going to stop you.” Ariel said basically at the top of her lungs, speaking with her hands as well, fighting some angry tears back. Ariel was literally done at this point. This was all over some stupid dance camp that happened eight months ago. What was really the big deal?
Drew checked his Tumblr once again just to see her reply which he didn’t feel the need to respond. He was at her house and he started feeling like he passed the limits coming out there, getting nervous to see her face and hated himself for not thinking about what he’d say before getting there. He passed his hands through his hair, looking down to his old jeans and his old Chicago Bulls shirt. Why didn’t he think before coming down there? The thought of Ariel being sick came to his head once again and he realized why he was there at first place. She said she lost weight, maybe he caused this? Drew bit his lower lip hardly, imagining the scenario that he hurt her and she somehow lost weight wait too fast. He shook his head, trying to take everything out of it, not wanting to think because it was obviously doing him bad. He heard the steps getting louder and louder and he took a deep, shaky and heavy breath. The door was open and small pants-free brunette appeared. “Are you….” The boy started, his eyes traveling through her body and stopping at her underwear. “…okay…?” Drew completed, raising an eyebrow in a flirtatious way but turning his facial expression serious again. “Are you like, not eating? Or did you spend too much time dancing?” He asked, trying to keep it cool and not show his heart was almost coming out his chest. Why did it feel he hasn’t seen her in days? Drew got a bit calmer once he realized she was there, safe. Maybe he knew she was safe. Maybe he just wanted to see her.
Ariel’s face turned a light shade of red in reaction to his facial expression. “I’m fine.” she tried to assure him. “You’d really think I’d stop eating?” she said with a slight chuckle. “I guess I’m in high demand at the studio so I’ve been there a lot..” she started, “and yesterday I danced for a while..” She stared down at her feet, shifting her weight to her left leg. Was that the only reason he came? Just to ask how she lost her weight? No, she felt like there was more to it than that. Asking about her health and weight loss isn’t a face-to-face emergency. There had to be more to it than that. Ariel shook her leg slightly, biting on her lip gently, before asking, “Is that the only reason you came? To ask about my weight?” Although they were mad at each other for the moment, Ariel couldn’t help but enjoy his company. “You can come in, you know.” she said making a path for him to walk past her. After he did so, she shut the door after him, following Drew close behind.
